The comeback was real, the year 2022 went by really quick. The hunger to make up for lost time and opportunity was evident. Through seeing so many people together and outside, it was easy to see how far we’ve come from the past two years. And as we thought about our theme for the upcoming PURVEYR 2023 Calendar, we were reminded of our inspiration and theme for this year’s calendar, ‘We Will Gather Again.’
It was a theme based on our hope that everything will become better in 2022, most especially for the creative community. It is now surreal to realize that it actually came into reality as we saw so many gatherings and events that happened this year — including our very own, PURVEYR Fair. So indeed, we all gathered again.
With that in mind, and the same hope that we will all get back on our feet and continue to thrive again, the PURVEYR 2023 Calendar was designed to encourage everyone to believe that we are all creative — that each and every one of us have the capacity to be creative.
To evoke the theme for this PURVEYR calendar, we partnered with type design and typography platform Type63, headed by Jo Malinis, to feature 12 Filipino type designers. Each designer was tasked to create their own design using our tagline, “All Minds are Creative.”
Typography or type design is arguably one of the underappreciated branches of visual design in the Philippines. Because it is highly focused on text, words and letters, there’s a sense of triviality to it compared to the likes of illustration and the more general branch of graphic design. However, this is exactly why we chose to highlight them for the theme of the 2023 calendar. ‘All Minds are Creative’ is based on our belief that in all industries and communities, creativity lives and thrives.

The collaborative calendar with Type63 is now available. A portion of the sales will go to Type63 to help the team continue and grow their work in nurturing and celebrating Filipino Typography. The size of the calendar is 17 x 22 inches.
All calendar orders will be shipped on December 27, 2022 onwards.

The yearly PURVEYR Calendar is an iteration of the traditional calendar that was once omnipresent in Filipino households and mom-and-pop shops. The traditional calendar commonly features a business name, address, contact number, and other business details printed at the top part of the calendar. It is usually made and distributed by different local businesses as marketing giveaways for customers.
